A Louisville studio for the whole house.
Porch Swing Interiors designs interiors, porches, patios, and exteriors for people who want a home that fits the way they live, not a showroom.

John Magre
John spent thirty years in automotive manufacturing before founding Porch Swing Interiors, and it shows in the best way: projects run on schedule, details get checked, and nothing is left to guesswork.
His design eye came first, though. Years of renovating his own homes, building an outdoor kitchen under his own deck, and helping friends and family rethink rooms turned into a studio. He leads every project personally, from the first walk-through to the last styling day.

Comfortable first. Beautiful because of it.
We plan the space before we choose a single finish, because the best material in the wrong layout is still the wrong room. Then we choose things that age well and layer in the pieces that make a room feel settled: real textiles, honest wood, lighting at the right height, and a few objects with a story.
Outdoors gets the same treatment. A porch swing, a proper outdoor kitchen, and a planting plan you can maintain are worth more than a yard that only looks good from a drone.
Why a porch swing?
It’s the least complicated piece of furniture there is, and people will sit on one for hours. Nobody ever had to be told how to use it. That is the standard we hold every room to: if it fits the way you live, you’ll use it without thinking, and that is what makes a house feel like home.
What we hold to.
Live-in first
A room has to work on a Tuesday night before it works in a photograph.
Materials that age
Wood, stone, plaster, linen, brass: things that look better after ten years, not worse.
Inside and out
The porch, the patio, and the garden are rooms. We design them with the same care.
Straight talk
Budgets, timelines, and trade-offs discussed plainly, from the first meeting.
How we work with clients.
Every project starts with a consultation at your home and a written scope. From there we work in clear phases, present one direction at a time, and keep a running budget you can see. You’ll always know what’s been decided, what’s next, and what it costs.
